The Solon Springs Fire Department encompasses all fire, emergency medical, vehicle accidents, water rescue, and emergency management services. This includes 9-1-1 services, fire inspections, permits and community education.
Mission Statement: Solon Springs Fire Department mission is to serve the community of Solon Springs by providing the highest level of emergency/rescue services, hazard prevention and safety education ensuring the protection of life, property and the environment.
Community Services and Professional Development: Additionally, as a Emergency Medical Responder or Firefighter of The Solon Springs Fire Department, we provide quality volunteer services to the care of our community. The Training Division has set goals to continue to help at local events such as parking cars and medical services for major events held in Solon Springs.
Solon Springs Fire Department does a lot of local small events, we provide fire and EMS protection for the annual 4th of July Weekend and Labor Day Weekend fireworks. We also spend countless hours at our station training and attending monthly business meetings. Solon Springs Volunteer Fire Department meets each October at the Solon Springs School to speak with all the staff and students about fire prevention and fire safety.
Training Division: Solon Springs Fire Department Training Division is responsible for developing, implementing and delivering comprehensive training programs for all certified firefighters and emergency responders within our community.
As we continue to grow we must keep up with changes to deliver the best possible service to our citizens, surrounding citizens and visitors. The fire department has recognized the need to train as an all hazards response organization. Firefighters and emergency responders are being trained in the following:
• Firefighting
• Emergency Medical Services
• Active Shooter Training
• Swift Water Rescue
• Motor Vehicle Accidents
• Train Derailments
• Evacuations
• Wild-land Fire Suppression
• Incident Command
